Bill Purvis

Bill Purvis is the Pitmaster of his one-man team, Chicken Fried BBQ. He was born and raised deep in the heart of Texas and now resides in Magnolia, Texas. In 2019, he entered his first barbecue contest, in which he ended up winning first place ribs along with Reserve Grand Champion, and since then Bill has never looked back. In his first three years of barbecue, he has won over 35 Grand and Reserve Grand Championships throughout the USA.

Bill has walked the biggest stages in barbecue to collect top finishes. At the  2021 American Royal World Series of Barbecue Invitational, he finished with a 2nd place "Perfect 180" score in chicken and had a 10th place brisket in the American Royal Open against 495 teams. Bill finished 10th place in KCBS Team Of The Year points in 2021. He finished 5th overall in chicken and 9th in ribs, cooking half the amount of events as the majority of the top ten teams.

Bill went back to the American Royal in 2022 and finished 8th overall against 505 teams. He also finished as the Reserve Grand Champion at the 2022 San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Bar-B-Que Cook-Off against 295 teams. Bill has proven his food shines at big competition across the entire USA.

Bill's huge success in BBQ has led him to be featured twice on the hit Food Network TV show BBQ USA with Michael Symon. He is also a social media icon showing off his award-winning food porn under Chicken Fried BBQ on all social media platforms.
